Tim Coles

Tim is a classically trained marketer, with a wealth of subsequent senior buying and merchandising experience. He has held board level trading roles with major retail and distribution groups including Tesco and Kingfisher before moving on to general management roles in entrepreneurial start-ups and strategy and capability development with leading UK sales & marketing consultancies.

He has an unusually broad understanding of product development and category management, having led marketing and buying teams in categories as diverse as packaged groceries, fresh fruit and home entertainment. He has managed major brands and own label/licensed product development.

As a consultant Tim’s work includes; a market review and strategy option development project for UK DIY and Electrical retailers, a distributor management capability development project for a global Brewer, developing a customer service and internal business partnering capability programme for a big 4 UK Bank, customer centric selling, negotiation skills and category management capability development for three global CPGs (impulse and household goods) and development of a category strategy for a major European confectionery manufacturer.

Tim’s experience and expertise as a buyer proves invaluable when working with Sales teams at all levels. He has facilitated across Europe.

Tim facilitates in French and has conversational German and Italian.
